I wanted to add two things that would be really useful:

• Syncing between local and cloud - namely I might want to have a folder in both, but be able to sync changes between them.
• Improve the search field for ingredients. For example, on Simpson's website you have a "Red Rye Crystal" yet I can't search for "Red Rye", I have to use "Rye, Red" - even a space after "Rye " disqualifies the one I am looking for.

Here's a tip for next time... I'm 64 years old with an artificial hip and arthritis everywhere else so carrying a full fermenter down a flight of stairs is impossible. It finally dawned on my I don't have to carry the entire volume at once. Clean and sanitize a bucket and carry it down a couple gallons at a time.

In the production of ethanol the process of fermentation is carried out at a low temperature (30⁰-40⁰). Above 40⁰ the enzymes would permanently lose their structure (denature). At a temperature lower than 30⁰ the process would be too slow. Fermentation is conducted in the absence of air.

That should be a good work around. 

I usually create a new symbolic link for older libs to the new lib after upgrading linux and breaking applications.

Yes! I read that post.
I tried that solution but it didnt work.
I try installing beersmith older versions and I had the same problem.
I dont know what to do.
Im using BS since 3 years ago and i never had this problem

BeerSmith 3 Support / BeerSmith3 on Ubuntu 22.04 (error and fix)

I recently upgraded my Ubuntu distro from 20.04 to 22.04. This new version of Ubuntu uses OpenSSL 3.0 (versus the old OpenSSL 1.1), which creates the following error when attempting to run BeerSmith3:

    beersmith3: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I'm assuming this will be fixed in a future build of BeerSmith, but for now I was able to resolve things by following the directions here: https://linuxpip.org/install-openssl-linux/

I suspect this is not an ideal solution, but it got things working for me. Posting here in case anyone else gets similar errors.

Is another version of BS really running? Check task manager (ctrl-alt-del), pick Task Manager. Look for BeerSmith 3 (32 bit)

Try compatibility settings. Create a shortcut to the BS.exe. Right click the shortcut, select Properties, Compatibility tab, Compatibility mode section. Experiment with the highest Windows setting that works.
