Been looking at some wheat beer recipes and some have Klar urt as a addition with 15 mins of boil left.
Could someone please tell me what it is, never heard of it before?

Thanks Colin.

google-fu reports that it is an alternative to Irish Moss or whirlfloc or other kettle fining.

I had never heard of it before now.

translates as 'Ready Herb'

*EDIT*

looks like it might also translate as 'Clear Herb' which makes more sense.

It appears to be an extract of Irish Moss. I'd just use irish moss or whirlfloc

You're right. They sell/use it here in Scandinavia as a substitute for Irish Moss. It's an extract made of Irish Moss without the taste of it.

R, Slurk

It sounds weird to me to add it to a wheat beer though.

Thats from a recipe on beersmith recipe side of the site, was only looking through some to give me some ideas. It was not the only one to include it in recipe. I to thought [now I know what it is] the same as you, cloudy is part of the style.
