Hi all,

Just got back into brewing after 10 years.
I have a question that is driving me crazy regarding bottling
The steps I remember are:
Wort
Carboy
Bottle
I can't remember ever using priming sugar.
I believe that I would bottle when the air lock showed no activity.
Is this possible? or, is old age catching up on me.
Thanks
JD

if you are really confident in your expected final gravity you can bottle with enough points remaining to achieve the carb level you want but I have never been that confident. (it takes right around 3 gravity points to carb a beer to 'normal' american carb levels)

Thank you,
I appreciate the response and will continue to make adjustments.
When I last brewed many years ago, the amount of knowledge was not available.
This is great.

Hi JD.
If you want to get back in the swing of brewing beer, you can't beat the following books.

My first choice of a book that I found was indispensable in my learning about brewing was "How to Brew" by John Palmer, and
"The Joy of Home Brewing by Charlie Papazian, 3rd Edition.  A third is "The Homebrewer's Companion" by Charlie Papazian", a follow-on to the Joy of Home brewing.  There are other books out there with the latest techniques also.

They are available at Walmart.com (they deliver free to store) and Amazon (Supersaver shipping over $35).  I got all three for $30 and change...
