Nelson / Galaxy Rye Ipa Recipe

Brewed this up and brought this to my homebrew club tonight. Seemed well received.

10lb 2 row
2 lb Rye Malt
1 lb CaraRye malt
1/2lb Crystal 40L
Mashed at 150* for an hour

1 oz Chinook (13.7%AA) 60 min
1/2 oz of each Galaxy (15%) and Nelson Sauvin (12%) at 10 and 5
1oz each Nelson, Mosaic, and Galaxy at flame out
2.5 oz Nelson and 1oz Galaxy dry hopped.

US-05 fermented at 64*
1.062 Og
60 Ibu
12.5 Srm
1.013 fg for 6.2% abv

Smacks you with Nelson aroma on the nose. Lively hop bitterness from the Chinook and a deep color and nice spicy notes from the rye

I tasted this one at your homebrew club meeting tonight.  It was fantastic.

Now that looks like a recipe worth brewing/drinking!

Alas no Mosaic or Cararye available locally for me

You'll have to ask Brewmex.  It's his recipe.  I've only tasted it and really liked it.

5.5 gallons in the carboy and 5 to the keg.

You'll probably be fine omitting the mosaic, but the cararye is pretty crucial to the malt flavor.
