Cannot open BeerSmith 2.2

I'm getting a message: "This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." 

Well, I uninstalled and re-installed.  No luck, same problem.  I've tried several times.  No dice.  Help.

  A handful of older XP machines have this error because they don't have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 runtime installed.

  The easy way to correct this is to download and install the runtime from Microsoft:
  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=9b2da534-3e03-4391-8a4d-074b9f2bc1bf&displaylang=en

  Once you have this installed, BeerSmith 2 should run correctly on your machine.
