Yesterday I was having a hard time to clean my glass carboy, wife look at me and said put warm water in it and put  a piece of cloth in it and shake it around, (I said maybe not a bad idea).
I tried it, put a few liters of hot water gently shake it around in a circular motion for a few minute and it works...
Just tough I should share this. ;)

Not free, but you do t have to pick up the carboy. Incidentally, I don'trrecommend your method due to the risk of dropping the carboy and the danger of shrapnel.

I fill mine with hot water and Oxyclean. No need to lift or scrub. Then I'll siphon it out to clean the siphon and hoses. Billy Mays really knew what he was talking about. I can find over 101 uses just in the brewery for the stuff!

I fill them with water and a about a  cup of bleach.  let it sit overnite.  Pour off & rinse.

When I am in a hurry to get a carboy clean, I employ this method as well but still use PBW.  When I can be lazy as my cats, I use PBW overnight or the weekend or the week.
