Recirc pump question / idea?

B

BrewMe

I use a recirc pump on my MLT, and presently I have not come up with a way to secure the hose that pours back onto the top of the grain bed. I've found that holding the hose in my hand is a bit awkward as sometimes I need to stir the mash or adjust the flame under the MLT.

So has anyone come up with a good way to redistribute the wort back into the mash (espically during vorlauf)?

Cheers!

I would rig a hard copper pipe to direct wort out parralel to the wort surface.  Adjust it's vertical position so the outlet is just below the surface and fix with a set screw.  Hose fitting on the top.

Make sense?

That will work.  I would have them discharge along the plane of the grain

Hi Browndog, that's very cool...and easy to remove for stiring where the others I've seen are a bit more complex to put in and take out.

Thanks for the input.
