Im trying to follow a recipe that is calling for british two-row as the base malt. the supplier that I normaly use doesnt list any of their malts as british two-row. What would be a good substitute?

You can use plain old 2-row or see if they have Maris Otter. It is a great base malt for the UK.

Usually when you see British 2-Row they are talking about Marris Otter. You can substitute any 2-row and get a great beer.

Marris Otter, Optic, Golde Promise, Pearl are all British two row.
You can use American two row in its place. It may save you a few bucks too - many people can't tell the difference, that being said I use British when a recipe calls for it.
