CRABBIES CLONE FOR THE MISSUS

Anybody have a good clone for a Crabbies Ginger? The wife loves them, but of course doesn't like any other beers (Why me?) so I want to be able to make her something she can enjoy without spending a fortune on store bought!
Had thought to use a mead recipe, but the alcohol would send her to the moon.
Any ideas?

Yes, I took a sip or two. mead wouldn't work, too high in alcohol. Was thinking I might do a lighter version of a mead using pear concentrate to lighten up the heat a bit.
