I tried to change my water to grain ratio from 1/2.066 to 1/1.250. After I changed the number, my dead space changed to 264 qt and my water quantities jumped up as well. Ended up reverting back to old ratio, but am concerned with 15.28 qt of water in mash tun with 6.5lbs of grain for a 3g  batch. Is there any way to change ratio and not have anything else change or should i just leave it alone?

Hi,
Changing the water/grain ratio for a single mash step should not radically change your equipment volumes.  It will change your mash volumes for that step and follow on steps though.  I'm wondering (given the big leap) if the number was perhaps mis-entered somehow or out of bounds when you entered it?
