Making my first coffee stout and was wondering about best way to add coffee.  Have a great bean that we grind and was wondering about:
1.  Add 7-8 lbs ground to wort boil
2.  Concentrate 7-8 lbs in a gallon steep for 24 hours and add to primary
3.  or Add to secondary?
4. other options not mentioned

Thoughts?  Suggestions?

I make espresso and add it to the secondary.  This way, it's sterile and contamination isn't an issue.  It also allows me to add the amount to my taste, so that the coffee balance is dead on.  I like espresso, instead of regular coffee, because the taste is smoother and silkier.

Adding to the boil can lead to a bitter coffee flavor.  I also don't want to deal with the grounds.
