Hop Age Tool

K

I just noticed that the HSI for leaf vs pellet hops is the same when using the hop age tool.  Should the leaf form show faster deterioration?

Not necessarily, or even appreciably while properly stored.

If the whole hops are compressed, the aging isn't any faster than pellet. The main difference is that whole don't have burst lupulin glands, which slows the oxidation process and essentially offsets the higher amount of exposed surface area.

If the bag is ruptured or stored warm, all bets are off.
