Hiya

I have not found a way to do a BIAB partial mash in beersmith. Basically I want to do 24l as BIAB and then run the must through a cooler, add liquid extract and more water for up to 45l. Am I missing something or is this a feature request?

Thanks!

What you are making is wort, not must. The boil step is critical to wort making and your post makes it sound like you might be thinking of skipping that step.

All you are doing is making a mash using BIAB, then adding malt extract to the boil near the end, followed by top-up water.  Top up water and total batch size are found in the equipment profile. When you double click on the malt extract (in the recipe tab) you'll have the option of adding the extract late in the boil. You'll want at least 15 minutes of boil time.
