Here's a new one for me...
Made a nice ESB. 1.068 OG / 1.019 FG
After fermentation, I rose temp to 72 for several days. Now crashing at 37.
After hitting the cold temp I have about an inch of murky, creamy shmutz sitting on top of the brew.
Never happened before. Any ideas? Hope this drops down to the trub.

Got home very late and went to take a picture.
That's when I saw it...
I forgot to replace the blow off tube with an airlock before cold crashing. Of course, the bucket is empty.
So the mystery shmutz is about a half gallon of starsan sitting on top of the brew.
When I changed the settings on the temp controller it just never brain registered.
Can't believe I made such a noobacious mistake.

Sign of working too much and not brewing enough......
