Since i started doing yeast starters using a stir plate my fermentation's have been extreme. They overflow out the airlocks. I switched to a tube yet it is still a contained mess.  should i worry about it? Will it cause anything adverse to the flavor in anyway?

It won't cause you any problems with the flavors that I know of, unless you're overpitching.

It will cause you to lose beer.  I have 8.5 gallon fermenters that I use for primary fermentation, when I anticipate a violent fermentation.  I haven't had a fermentation go through the airlock for about 18 months now.
