question about equiptment setup

I had to create all of my equipment over again when i installed the new version. My question is 2 part

1. I have a 1gal dead space in my MT should i always add the extra gal to my strike water when i mash?

2. I have a 1gal dead space in my boil kettle where would i record that measurement. I am thinking trub and chiller loss.

  The first item should be entered as lauter tun deadspace.  The second one would be losses for trub/chiller.
