I was searching this site yesterday looking for a clone receipt for Boston Lager.  I found several listed but all but one was given a style of American Pale Ale and I believe used an ale yeast.  When I went to the Samual Adams web site the yeast strain was listed as their own.  Is this truly a lager? or an ale?

It's a lager.  Probably their house strain they've developed over the years.

This is just thinking out loud since I'm yet to see Boston Lager here in Australia, let alone taste it. However, I wonder if your clone might benefit from using one of the lager yeasts (WLP810 or Wyeast 2112) developed to optimally ferment at near ale temps (58-65+ F).
