Sir
My computer crashed and the hard drive is good, I need to know how to move my beersmith 2 folds with my recipes and equipemnt for my brewsmith 2 program.

I tried to just replace the folders, but when i open my program nothing is there.

If i click on a recipe in the folder it will open it in brewsmith2 but I have to do that to about 100 recipes.

Please instructed me how i can do this

thanks

Chris

The data is on your old computer under Documents/BeerSmith2 (by default) for your main user - so back that up first.  If it has all of your data you can just move it to the same place on your new computer (Documents/BeerSmith2) and it will pick up the data.  If you have any new data on your new computer, make sure you back that up first however as overwriting the entire directory will overwrite your new stuff.

Ok what Brad did not say is that the file you are looking for is called Recipe or recipe 1 or recipe 2...... whatever the highest number is. That file contains all your recipes.

im also transferring to a new laptop..i did these steps, and moved my old folder (from old laptop) into the new directory on my new laptop and nothing comes up..i even changed the directory location on my new laptop to ensure it is pulling from accurate location. i opened "the highest recipe number" and it did open all my recipes, however they are just in a window able to be closed and not in "my recipes" saved location on the left in BS2..

(i'm also wondering can we transfer and save all profiles of equipment and any other things we added/created from the old laptop?)
