Just upgraded to El Captain on my mac, now every time I try to open Beersmith I get the following message:
"Another copy of BeerSmith is already running.  You may only run one copy at a time.".  I tried installing the (beta) update i found on this forum, but no use.  I tried force quitting, but the app only shows up in the force quit menu when I try to open Beersmith and get the error message (Beersmith isn't open when I open the force quit menu other than that).

Any other options?

This is advice direct from Brad on the same issue, but for MacOS:

This is a fairly rare problem that has been tied to doing an operating system update while BeerSmith is still running on the Mac.

I recommend the following steps as a first fix:
  - Make sure BeerSmith is not running
  - Go to your Home directory and delete the file "BeerSmith2-USERNAME" if it exists where USERNAME is your user name- this lock file usually causes the problem
  - Reboot your machine

Let me know if this does not work - in most cases I've found this corrects the issue.
