I have an electric mash tun can I add grains to cold water then heat to 150

I would think you'll get much more predictable results if you heat then add grains.

If Steve has a RIMs system in his electric pot would it make a difference?

just built a sort of one pot recirculating keggle its a keg with plastic fermentation bucket that fits inside keg. pump connected to tap recirculates liquid to top of fermenter which has holes in it grains are in fermenter it works really well just thought i could put grains in and then heat to 150
