This is my first batch in my new Stainless and was wondering how you should pull the yeast out to get ready for the second fermentation?  I have heard a lot of different methods to this a just looking for some pointers.  Some pull out alittle each day, some pull all put and back in a few hours later.  What works the best? Thanks

Standard brewers answer rbraunberger. Depends ! I generally wait until the bulk of primary fermentation is over and then rack out as much as I can followed by a few yeast washing steps over the next 48 hours or so.

Check out the Bodensatz page on how to do it, very easy and will help keep your brewing costs down by reusing yeasts. You can also see/read how Wyeast do it at their web site. http://www.wyeastlab.com/com-yeast-harvest.cfm
Have fun !
