IBU discrepency between Beersmith 1.4 and 2
« on: March 12, 2016, 09:49:41 AM »
I tried to search, but couldn't find the answer to this.

I just imported all of my recipes from 1.4 to 2.  I read that there is a 10% increase in IBU for pellet hops in version 2.

All of my IBU's have gone down.  e.g. In 1.4 I get 35 IBU, in version 2 I get 26.  My equipment is set up exactly the same.

What's the deal?  Also, how to fix.  I trust the 1.4 version since I used it for so long.

Make sure that the IBU formulas are the same.

Options > Bitterness

BeerSmith gives you the choice of which to use, as well as a coefficient for various hop types and procedures.

You can then apply one master utilization factor in your equipment profile.
Beer Appreciation is the space between pints.
