Cannot find pepper in the misc list

Hi!

I see that several recipes have pepper in their misc list and I cannot find it in mine. I do seems to have very few types of spices.  I have bought Beersmith recently (2.2.14) and downloaded an add-on misc items. Still, no pepper.

Do I have to add it manually or it exist somewhere?

When I run into ingredients which are not on the lists, I add it manually.  It is pretty easy to do.  Just open up the ingredient list you want to add it to, click on 'add misc' (in your case) and then enter the necessary information.
