Keep having to enter the registration key

I've looked at FAQs and done a bit of searching but can't find a solution here.

I use Beersmith 2 on my 10.11 mac for a while and then when I open it, it complains about a lock file - which I guess means it wasn't shut down correctly.  Then I have to reenter my details.  Is this a known issue - or can I do anything to prevent it?

If you update to the new version (2.3) released today there is an option to override the lock file - it will show a warning but you can continue.

The best way to prevent it is make sure the program gets closed properly - either by shutting it down when you are not using it or shutting it down before your computer runs out of battery.

Also if you are having to re-enter the registration key that indicates the program may not have permissions to write to the BeerSmith2 directory or files in it.
