I've just started using "steep" hops but have an issue not being able to estimate the "utilisation" accurately(ish). I add steep hops when cooled to 75C and have set the "utilisation" to 15% (from 50%). But it's not a very adaptable solution.

Can we have a temperature option for steep/whirlpool hops?

I was about to ask this question as well. We're adding our steep hops in at 75c now...what does this do to our IBU's?
Great question. Interesting topic.

Hop utilization between 100oC and 80oC is about 15%. Below that, it drops like a rock to ~5% utilization if whirlpool is your only addition. If there is near saturation already, the IBU contribution is zero.

I hope we're not discussing IBUs as if it's a measure of hop flavor or aroma. Both of those are entirely separate from isomerized bittering.
