I upgraded to 2.3 the day it came out (fantastic upgrade btw!) and as of today (8/24/16) it now asks me to upgrade to beersmith 2. I let it close and prep the upgrade, but it is saying that my software will be upgrading from version 1.4?

Upgraded to 2.3 over 2 weeks ago | software nags me to upgrade from v1.4 ?!?

I think that is the 2.3.7 update which patches some bugs in the original 2.3 release. The 1.4 warning is simply to prevent anyone installing from wiping the earlier version out (which is separate).
In almost every case installing it to the default location is correct.
