The price for BeerSmith will change 1 May 2008 to $21.95 US for all versions, including the retail CD and electronic registration. BeerSmith was introduced in 2003 at an discounted "introductory" price of $19.95 against the retail price $24.95. We have not changed that "introductory offer" in 5 years.
The change in price to $21.95 represents a 10% ($2) increase in price for the electronic version, but is a $3 reduction in price for the retail CD version. The 10% increase on the electronic version falls well below inflation and is still below the price of our competitors.
The change in price will allow us to continue to fund the development of BeerSmith, provide top quality online resources such as BeerSmith.com, BrewWiki.com, BrewPoll.com and our BeerSmith blog, as well as better serve our customers.
In addition, we are in the process of introducing commercial quality BeerSmith CD's through our retail partners that we hope will draw more brewers into the BeerSmith community.
