Where do commercial breweries get there recipes from? Do microbreweries sometimes  use clone recipes and re name them. I've tasted beer of different names that tastes very similar

Thanks

They create their own recipes from scratch, if a beer tastes similar its because their are style guidelines for beers, and most pilsners will at least taste in the same ballpark, same with most Pale Ales ETC.

As for clone recipes yeah you can do that, I tend to clone recipes that I enjoy as well as create my own.
