Cacao Nibs soaked in Vodka
« on: August 28, 2019, 10:33:54 AM »
I have a recipe that calls for 4 oz. of cacao nibs soaked in 10 oz of vodka overnight. How do I add the vodka to the recipe? I can't seem to find an entry for it in any of the ingredient lists.

I would add it as a misc item as a cocao extract or tincture then list the process for soaking the nibs in the vodka in the notes section of the new ingredient.

Recycle your grains, feed them to a goat!

are you planning to add the 10oz vodka to the beer? want to see how much it changes the ABV? I just created a calculator for this ABV Adjustments on my beer calc tools page

In the Spike section, say you have 5 gallons of beer at 6% ABV and are adding 10 oz of 40% Vodka. Just enter those in the calculator and you can see the affect on the ABV of the beer. Spoiler, .5% ABV.
