Accounting for starter volume in BeerSmith
« on: May 13, 2020, 07:39:31 AM »
I will be pitching a starter later this afternoon to an IPA. My starter volume is 4L as it spins right now.

I will attempt to decant as much as possible before the pitch. But I will probably end up pitching around 3L?s.

Where do I account for that volumes in BS? Or, am I simply overthinking here.

BeerSmith has an option for adding the starter volume to the fermenter (as an addition to bottling volume) which is a volume addition AFTER the fermenter is filled and the program does not take this into account for batch size.  You can check off the box to make this addition on the starter tab or on the vols tab.
