I will be brewing Bonjour's Irish Red.

His recipe is scaled to the five gallon level. I have my equipment profile dialed in at a 11.25 gallons level.

I have copied his recipe from his cloud to my local copy of BeerSmith 3.

I am now ready to tweak his base recipe to fit my volume need.

If I change the "equipment" within the design page from his 5 gallon to my 11.25 gallon equipment must I take anything else into account? ie, must I have my own equipment setting for each volume size I want to scale to?

The best way is to use the "Scale Recipe" tool. If the "Match OG, color and bitterness" box is checked, the software will make all of the necessary adjustments to ingredients. You have the option of changing volume and efficiency when using the scaling tool, so a new profile won't be needed unless the batch size is larger than the equipment will handle without further changes.

Thanks so much Bob. Your knowledge is appreciated.
