Changing Batch size without scaling

Hello everyone.

A quick question I hope. I have an equipment profile setup for my GrainFather system that is a 10 gallon system. Sometimes I like to brew just a 5 gallon batch. If I change the Batch Vol field in the design tab, it doesn't seem to change the grain bill amounts. Do I have to have a separate equipment profile setup for my GrainFather with only a 5 gallon batch vol?

Thank you!

You'll want to create a 5 gallon profile for your equipment. Then, use the scale recipe function. The reason for this is your brewhouse efficiency will change (lower) with the smaller batch. Simply, all of your loss volumes will stay the same as a full batch but represent a larger percentage of the batch volume.

One gallon loss is 10% of 10 gallons and 20% of 5 gallons.
