Low Orig Gravity Estimate when using Pilsner (2 Row) Ger
« on: June 18, 2009, 03:09:50 PM »
Hi,
I'm trying to make a new recipe and I'm entering in 9.5 lbs of Pilsner (2 Row) Ger but I'm only getting an Orig Gravity estimate of 1.011. Shouldn't it be higher?
Thanks,
Clif

In Recipe View, I am guessing in the second field called TYPE you have "Extract" selected.  Change it to Partial or All Grain, as appropriate.  The Extract selection assumes you are just steeping grains and not getting the converted starches, etc., from the mash process.

That was it.  I feel like a goon!
