Fining and Flavors

Hello All,

I'm in the process of brewing a pumpkin spice ale.  The brew has been sitting in the secondary for 2 weeks with the spices and it still is a little cloudy.

I would like a clear beer to come out of this, but I'm afraid that if I add a fining agent (like gelatin) I'll strip the beer of its flavors.  Has anyone had any problems with gelatin removing flavors or making a beer turn out less flavorful?

Thanks!

I've read and heard that excess gelatin can take out some body, but no ill effects from the proper amount.  And since you're most likely(?) trying to drop just some pumpkin meat starches, those should drop easier than persistent yeast that won't flocc.  I think if you slightly undershot the gelatin for your beer volume that you'd be fine.
