Equipment Profile for HERMS?

B

Brueno

Say, I have to first appologize, because I'm an old man and not too computer literate.

I have a BREWZER HERMS system and make 10 gallon batches, and am trying to figure out how to set up an equipment profile in BeerSmith that matches. And then how to apply this profile to step infusion mashes.

Is there a circulating heat exchange equipment profile to start from that I have not located? At each mash step, I will of course circulate to add heat, but no additional water to the mash.

I just must be missing something simple.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi,
If you have a recirculating system, you can use a temperature mash profile (which does not assume additional infusions).  These are included with the program.  If you have an initial infusion step (not clear from your description) you can add that as an initial step and then add temperature steps for the other profiles.

As far as setting up an equipment profile, look at the Video on equipment profiles on the Videos page here:

Bad link? I can view another video on the site but not the one linked to above.

Hi,
I just loaded it up in my browser and played it - it worked fine here.  It did take a minute or two to load up, but I'm working from a slow connection today.
