trouble downloading beer smith recipes

Is there a certain place I should be downloading the recipe packets from beer smith site. I do have beer smith. I tried just to down load them into my docs file and when I opened them the read like some computer mumbo jumbo. Any ideas?????

Here's the process:
- Download them to a temporary place
- Open the files using the Open command in BeerSmith
- Copy the recipes you want to keep, and paste them into your "My Recipes" folder or a subfolder of that one
