Late Extract Addition box in Extract Brewing ? How's it work?
« on: December 26, 2010, 09:02:56 PM »
When using the Box for late extract addtion; what portion of the extract is it assuming is added late?  Does the program assume a specific percentage up front and late additon such as:

1/3 up front with 2/3 late ?
10 % up front w/90 late?
etc?

Or do you need to break up the extract into two seperate line item additions under the "grain bill"? One being a portion up front in the full boil w/no late addition box checked.. and then a seperate line for the remaining portion of the extract added and then that box checked?

Not certain, but the "check mark" seems to apply to the whole amount, so you'd need to have two entries; one for full boil, unchecked, and a second entry, checked, to indicate the late addition.
