According to Briess CBW LME label "Color of wort assuming 8° Plato (1.032 Specific Gravity).
They do have a pdf that has the gravity and corresponding lovibond color.

For the Golden Light LME

Desired O.G. Color
1.020            3
1.030            4
1.040            5
1.050            6
1.060            7

My Question is, is there a way to make Beersmith automatically compensate for this color adjustment when the gravity is different from the specification, or would i need to make the adjustment each time i put the ingredient into a formula based on the expected O.G.

The software should do this for you based on the correct Color information input into the sotware. I did a test with Golden Saaz Pilsner (3srm). With a gravity of 1.021 the color was 2.2 srm, increasing the OG to 1.031 increases the Color to 2.9 srm. If this is not the case you should look at your extract to make sure it has the correct data.

Cheers
Preston
