Hello,

BeerSmith is asking me to add, what seems like, very high temps for my mash profile, any thoughts?

I am using the 10gal boil kettle / 10gal igloo cooler equipment profile. I then selected the Double Infusion, Medium Body Mash Profile, and only adjusted the rest times slightly...

20min Protein Rest
Add 10.35qt of water at 132 F
122 F Step Temp

45min Saccrification
Add 9.20 qt of water at 197 F
154 F Step Temp

10min Mash Out
Add 8.05qt of water at 205.6 F
168 F

Using my own tool on my website, assuming:
Current Mash temp: 122
Target: 154
Grain weight 7.5lb
Grain to water ratio 1.25:1
Hot Liquor Temp: 197

+add 9.2 quarts of 197f water to raise 122f to 154f
Using The Formula ((154-122)*((0.4*7.5)+9.375))/(197-154)
