Ingredient conversion

Some ingredients must not have a exact conversions when an existing recipe is opened in Beer Smith 2.  Example, Tori's Honey Wheat (from samples).  It lists the honey as "Type - Other."  That means it doesn't add anything to the SG and adjusting the amount makes no changes to the "Style Guide Comparison."  You must delete the item and add it again from the "Add Grain" menu to have it work correctly.

  Obviously a lot of people have added their own custom ingredients over the years.  I've tried to include the most popular ones in BeerSmith 2 as either part of the main database or as add-ons.

Would it be hard of work to have the program prompt for things it does not recognize, so the brewer doesn't end up with a high gravity when that may not be the intent?  I'm not much of a programmer so not sure how possible it really is.
