I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit SP1,
4GB Ram
Intel Core 2 Duo

BS2 Version 2.0.40
wxWidgets Library License Version 3.1

Crash happens randomly unfortuately  :(
Another screen pops up in front of the Windows error screen which mentions wxWidgets hence why I added the version number.

Thanks

Thanks,
Can you tell me what you are doing when it crashes or is it completely random?

Brad

It's random I'm afraid.

When the program has been open for quite a while like 1 hour +

Sometimes it lets me carry on for a bit if I click to close the error but mostly it just closes.

After opening again, it works fine for a while.

I have an error since posting that mentions a directory path could not be found, I have attached a screenshot.

Hope that helps,

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
Based on that error it is possible you have imported an old recipe with a bad date which might be causing the crashes when it saves/opens that recipe (or autosaves).  This is just a hunch at this point based on the info you provided...

You might want to browse your recipes to see if one may have an invalid date??

Brad

Ok thanks,

I can't see imported recipes in the 'user/BeerSmith2' folder?

There are 5 Recipe5.bsmx files though.

I will try opening each recipe manually in the my recipes section.

Hi,
The files are all backups (Recipes1.bsmx, Recipes2.bsmx, etc...)

What I intended was for you to take a look at your recipes in the program (i.e. the My Recipes view) and see if any have bad dates.  You should be able to customize the columns on the "My Recipes" folder to show the brewing date - then check to see if any look funny.

Brad

I'm stabbing blindly here, but since the error still points to a date field is there any chance you have a date field in the "Select Fields" section when designing a recipe or alternately have a date field added as a custom column on the main recipe view?    If so - what is that field - I might be able to narrow down the section causing the problem?

Thanks,
Brad

Thanks Brad,

Have checked both of them and attached screenshots.

The funny thing is, I do have a date field as a custom column on the main recipe view however, when I look at the customise columns dialog, the date field is not there?

Anyway, screenshots should answer your questions I hope,

Dave

Have done an uninstall and completely clean reinstall of BS2 and crash still happening.

Deleted all relevant folders before reinstalling and have not imported or copied anything in to new install.

Only thing I can think is different to a 'normal' situation is that my 'my docs' folder is redirected to a server.
