Sparge water??

O

ohman

Here is a recipe I used this weekend, Beersmith came up with a odd amount of sparge water. Did I miss something or is this a bug? This is for a 5 gallon batch and it said to use 5.70 gallons of sparge water. I only used 4.7 which was a little too much so I missed my OG by a few points.

ohman,
That does sound a bit high - my recommendation would be to check your equipment settings as these drive most of the water calculations.  You might want to start here and set up an equipment profile for your setup, then apply that to the recipe to see if it fixes your problem:

Cheers!

Brad it had been pretty close in all of my other recipes. I was just curious why this one went haywire.

ohman,
Not sure - but if you email me the recipe I would be very happy to take a look at it!
