Don't worry if you're brewing a recipe needing sugars added during the boil.
Beersmith will give you an estimated OG before boil including the sugars (considered as bringing gravity during the mash).
So, when checking your OG before boil you'll never reach the OG predicted by Beersmith... of course, 'cause the sugar is not yet in the wort.
If brewing with Candi sugar, adding it at the begining before the boil ( < 80°C) will prevent overflows (bubbling concentrates on sugars) while sometimes lead to caramelization (be careful if brewing a light colored trappist).
Checking your gravity after the sugar addition will help you relax and be sure you're targeting properly your expectations.
Maybe an option would be to modify the gravity calculations and take in account that the sugars are added during the boil, increasing the gravity already calculated by the boiloff equation.
