Beersmith 2 saves a new copy of files in its directory

Beersmith 2 saves a new copy of its  files (Age, Carbonation etc) in its directory in documents every time I start it up and use it. I have looked at the copy of files and they don´t seem to be different from the original file. It´s annoying to se the files increase like that, without any purpose. 

Same issue with my system. 

Good post since I probably would not have noticed it without a prompt to look.

My system has saved 5 versions of each .bsmx file.

I believe those are "automatic backup copies". It's not an issue, it's built into the program to do that.
