Recently I brewed a batch of IPA, and hit all but one of the software's estimations on the head, save one - the final gravity.

Started at 1.077, fermented down to 1.014, but the software predicted 1.024

The mash was all-grain, including some flaked maize and barley, some crystals, and Maris Otter. Yeast was 3rd generation ECY10, and both previous batches (a brown porter and IPA respectively) that used this culture fermented out lower than projected as well.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

OK, so it turns out that my problem has nothing to do with the software and everything to do with the improperly calibrated thermometer I've been using in the mash tun...

::)

Thanks -
  That is a relief.  Inexpensive thermometers are notoriously inaccurate (at least some of them).
