Yeast Propagation

P

Peter_Trigg

Hello there,

My first post to the board - I'm interested in propagating my own yeast, to save on costs. I operate the only microbrewery in all of Zimbabwe, and importation costs and logistics are a constant challenge.

However I've never seriously tried to save my own yeast cultures before, and would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Cheers,

Check this site out.  It is pretty informative.

Here is something for you to consider.

" Finally, if you are doing slants, then when someone sends you a sample of yeast, or you get one from some other means, you can make yourself a renewable lifetime supply from that sample."
