Rise Time

Under mashing the rise time setting, understand that is how long it will take to get to the temp. Question is how does putting a time in this block effect mash setting and where will I see it change. Secondly say rise time is 10 minutes, do I add this time to the next step or has Beersmith figured this into the step time?

At the moment the rise time is not used in the calculations.  It is mainly used to record the rise time.  This is usually not a significant factor in infusion mashes as the mash usually reaches temperature in a few minutes, but for temperature mashes where you are heating from an outside source, the rise time can be an important factor in the mash profile.

Cheers!
Brad
