I am new to the forum and new to brewing in general.  I've done several LME "kit" brews, but am interested in trying a holiday recipe.  I did a search and didn't find the answer I'm looking for.  On the recipes listed on this site, there are several that list additional ingredients (such as cloves, cinnamon, etc) and state 10 minute boils.  I assume these ingredients are added in the final 10 minutes of the boil, but my lack of experience leads me to question if these are added after the FIRST 10 minutes of the boil.

What you are doing is adding aromatics.  As a general rule these are added late in the boil to preserve the aromatics.  You are adding them to the boil to lessen the chance of an infection.

The last 10 minutes is the correct choice.

Thank you so much!  I assumed that was the right choice, but what do I know.  I still drink beer out of a can!  :D
