Hi guys,

Quick questions - does BeerSmith automatically include any ABV from priming sugar in the quoted recipe ABV value?

I brew a lot of Belgian ales where I might have 300g-400g of priming sugar and like to account for this.

Up to know I have always added the priming suagr as an ingredient in the recipe but feel I might be double accounting for it. Is this the case?

Thanks,

Dean.

Do you put in dextrose with the recipe design "add grain"? or do you select corn sugar under carbonation profile?

I have the carbonation set up as corn sugar and what I have done historically is have two "sugars" in my ingredients list. One is called sugar (boil) and one is called sugar (priming) so that I remember not to add it to the batch but hold it back for the bulk priming stage.

It's a handy way of recording how much sugar I use for next time.

I have just tried changing my Tripel recipe down to 0.1 vols CO2 and up to 10 vols CO2 and the ABV did not change so I can say fairly certainly that it is not included.

Brad - Could you confirm this and if so is it something you would consider including in the next release?

Dean.

The increase in ABV from bottle conditioning at 2.5vols is about 0.25%.
