Batch Sparging Question

Greetings,

I'm new and I'm sorry...

In BS2 under the Mash Profile it gives the option to add "Mash Steps". Then below that it says "3 Step Sparge (0.74gal, 4.24gal, 4.24gal) on 168". Should I add those 3 sparges (wrong verb? sorry) in the box above as "Mash Steps"? Is this also telling me to sparge 3 times with water at 168 degrees for the above quantities? Does one typically let the mash rest any period of time after adding each batch sparge, or do you dump, stir, and immediately start draining?

Also I cannot seem to find the option to equalize the volume of the sparges as I've seen recommended on here a few times...any direction on where that is located?

Thanks!

Hi,
It equalizes runnings by default for batch sparges.

The sparge steps show the volumes to add for each of the batch steps.  You add one addition at a time, then drain, then the next.
